Short Bio

Wenlu Wang is an assistant professor in the Department of Computing Sciences at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. She received her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Auburn University in 2020.

About me

I am interested in transferring artificial intelligence (AI) to real-world applications, particularly in the realm of AI for Science. AI models possess immense learning power, but the challenge lies in effectively harnessing this power to solve practical problems. My research focuses on translating complex real-world challenges into formats that AI can understand and process. Specifically, I work on the following subjects:

  1. How to convert a scientific problem into a format that AI can understand?
    • Can LLMs understand chemical language? cMolGPT
    • How can AI be leveraged to address physics-based real-world problems, for example in hydraulics? AquaSentinel
    • How to use AI for more accurate gemonic selection?
  2. How to empower open-source LLMs?
    • How can we enable private, efficient LLM deployment on low-resource hardware? TranSQL+
  3. How to “deploy” AI to address real-world challenges?
